Mission Arlington
The youth mission trip was an incredible experience for our City YTH students as they partnered with Mission Arlington; whose goal is to share Jesus with people in the Metroplex. The trip was designed to introduce YTH to missions and how to share the love of Christ with others.
Throughout the trip, the youth worked on a variety of projects including working in the food pantry, organizing paper goods, and salvage items from a recent flood. They also spent time leading Vacation Bible School for children in the community, providing a safe and fun environment for them to learn about God’s love.
In addition to the service projects, the youth had the opportunity to participate in team building activities and devotions, which helped to deepen their relationships with each other and with God. The trip was a transformative experience for City YTH, and they returned home with a renewed sense of purpose and a desire to continue serving others and sharing Christ. Some students were able to share what God did in them and through them the Sunday following the trip.
Chiapas Mission Trip
Our team traveled to San Cristobal, Chiapas, to serve with Greg McClanahan and his team at Harvest Evangelistic Association. We spent the first part of the week loving on HEA’s team and helping them get hundreds of thousands of VBS supplies and materials sorted for a massive campaign they do each year. Hundreds of pastors come from miles around to pick up these supplies in order to host their own VBS services for the kids in their own villages. Then we drove 6 hours deep into the mountains to one of the villages where HEA helped to plant a church. We had the privilege of building a new house for an impoverished family there that had 3 little boys and one on the way. One of the nights we were there we also helped HEA’s team put on a service out in a field where we did a puppet show, performed a skit, showed a Jesus movie for the kids, and watched as dozens of people responded to a gospel message and gave their lives to Christ. Our team was forever impacted!
