Hello This is a Test

Monday Devo

Scripture:

Romans 3:23
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

Commentary:

3:23 No one can stake a claim to this righteousness based on his or her own obedience, for all people have sinned and fall short of what God demands (see 1:21).

Questions:

  • It's in every person's nature to want to share the good things that happen their life with other people. It might be a new cleaning product that is amazing, or a sale you found on Amazon. If something makes your life better, excites you, changes your life, you want to share that with people you love... except, it seems, when it comes to Jesus. For some reason we are reluctant to share the Good News of the gospel, that Jesus came to seek and save the lost. How hesitant are you when it comes to being able to share your faith with someone else? Do you lack the boldness? The tools? Both?

  • In this series, we're trying to get everyone in our church family gospel-fluent. Many people are intimidated when it comes to the thought of sharing the gospel with someone, so Brandon made it easy on Sunday with the ABC's of the gospel using the Roman Road. Based on Romans 3:23, the first step in someone giving their life to Jesus is to A - Admit you are a sinner. Most people think that they are pretty good. But good isn't good enough when it comes to God's standard. His standard is PERFECTION. When it comes to YOUR life, do you ever slip into thinking that you are good enough for God's grace? How do you consistently remind yourself of the fact that Jesus not only made your life better, but he literally SAVED your life?

Pray:

  •  That you would commit to learning the necessary tools to share the gospel.
  • That God would give you boldness through the power of the Holy Spirit.

This Week's City 7:

Try to commit to memory!

2. Are there sources outside the Bible that confirm the Biblical account of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead? Many Roman and Jewish historians have confirmed that the apostles died as martyrs for preaching that they saw Jesus risen from the grave. No one dies for something they know to be a lie.
