Hello This is a Test

Tuesday Devo

Scripture:

2 Corinthians 9:10-11
10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.

Commentary:

9:10 The promise that God will increase the harvest should not be understood in material terms but in terms of increasing your righteousness. Thus the quoted OT texts (Isa. 55:10; Hos. 10:12) refer specifically to the provision of God’s word for the redemption of his people. God’s promise is that he will use his people and their resources as instruments of his grace for the salvation of others.
9:11 You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way. God will provide for the Corinthians’ needs so that they can continue generously meeting others’ needs and giving resources to advance the gospel.

Questions:

  • Becoming a Christ-follower means viewing everything in your life as something to be given, used and multiplied for God's Kingdom. God is a rich giver and a good Father who loves to give gifts to His children, but He doesn't give us blessings simply for us to enjoy them. He blesses us so that He can multiply those blessings in the lives of others. Is your life and finances a blessing for others?

  • So becoming a Christ-follower means a fundamental reshaping of your life until you look at everything you've been given as a seed for sowing. Has following Jesus had this reshaping effect in your life and finances? What would it look like to truly view everything you've been given as a seed for sowing?

Pray:

  • That your life would be a blessing to others.
  • That you would see your blessings as seeds meant for sowing.

This Week's City 7:

Try to commit to memory!

2. Are there sources outside the Bible that confirm the Biblical account of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead? Many Roman and Jewish historians have confirmed that the apostles died as martyrs for preaching that they saw Jesus risen from the grave. No one dies for something they know to be a lie.
