Scripture Reading:
Romans 15:13
13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Commentary from the ESV Study Bible:
15:13 Hope is the link word from v. 12 (see also v. 4). Joy and peace come from trust in God, but such trust is finally the gift of God, for believers abound in hope only by his grace.
Study Questions:
- We all need peace in our lives. And we all have things we need to lay at his feet, burdens we need to lay down, something heavy we need to let go of. Maybe it's a relationship, financial issues, a struggle with one of your kids, an addiction, an illness.... What is God speaking to you in this moment? What is the biggest thing in your life right now that you need to give to God? What is robbing you of your peace?
- God is the source of hope, peace and joy. He ALONE. These are things everyone is desperately searching for, and most of the time we look to other places to get them. But the irony is, chasing them through other means only brings us the opposite result. A fulfilling life that is full of hope, peace and joy is ONLY found in a life surrendered to Jesus. As we fully trust in him our lives fall into place. Not that we won't have difficulties, but we will stay strong, centered and anchored through them because of the Holy Spirit that is at work within us. Where are you looking for hope, joy and peace in your life? Maybe it's one of the things you listed in the above question? Spend some time asking God if he truly is your source for these things. Pray that he will fill your life with them and that you will learn to fully trust and surrender to him.
Pray:
- That you will learn to lay your burdens at the feet of Jesus
- That you will fully trust in him and receive his hope, joy and peace.
