Hello This is a Test

Group Guide

This Week's City 7:

3. Why did Jesus have to die on the cross? Since “all have sinned” and the “wages of sin is death,” Jesus had to die on the cross to pay the fine for my sin so I could be right with God.
(Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:21-23, 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:1-6; Colossians 1:13-14, 21-22)

Discussion Questions:

Some of the questions and prayer topics are geared towards parents, so adapt as you see fit.

  • Were you raised in church? If so, what denomination? What was your church like?

  • What was your upbringing like spiritually INSIDE the home? Did your family ever discuss spiritual things? Did you ever see your parents living out their faith in real life? What did that look like?

  • Speaking spiritually, what were some of the mistakes you think your parents made, or what could they have done better? What were some things they did well?

  • For parents: Again, speaking spiritually, what are some mistakes YOU'VE made in your parenting this far? What are some of the wins?

  • How do you make sure your kids have a solid faith that will stand the test of time? How do you make sure you are setting them up for success?

**Challenge everyone to add the Table Talk into their weekly schedule with their families**

Prayer Topics:

  • That we would lead our kids spiritually.
  • That we would do everything in our power to make sure our kids have a solid faith.
  • That we would make sure WE are growing spiritually so that we can lead our families well.
