Friday Devo

Scripture:
1 Peter 3
22 Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers accept his authority.

Commentary:
3:22 The central truth of vv. 18–22 is that Christ has triumphed over his enemies. He is now ascended to the right hand of God, and all angels and demonic powers are subjected to him since he is Lord and Christ. Christians can therefore rejoice in their sufferings, knowing that Christ has triumphed.

Questions:
- Jesus reigns on the throne and has won the victory! He has gone to the gloomiest, darkest place and came out victorious. So, we can have hope in the darkest moments of our lives. The darkest of DARK is NO MATCH for the LIGHT of the world! How can we learn to lean into the Light of the world when we feel like our world has gone dark? How can we remind ourselves each day of the hope we have in Jesus?
What has God been saying to you this week? What do you need to change?
Pray:
- That God would remind you that Jesus won the victory.
- That you would learn to cling to the light when your world is dark.
This Week's City 7:
Try to commit to memory!
2. Are there sources outside the Bible that confirm the Biblical account of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead? Many Roman and Jewish historians have confirmed that the apostles died as martyrs for preaching that they saw Jesus risen from the grave. No one dies for something they know to be a lie.
